More War than Love the sequel

 In  order to fully understand this blog, you would have to read the First part of it, MORE WAR THAN LOVE.

After that previous Hub, I actually presented to my husband the my decision to get a DIVORCE. I am fed up with him mistreating me and our son. Finally after almost 3 years of marriage, I've had enough and wanted out.

Every individual react differently when said by their partner that they want a divorce or a break up. Me, for example, usually try to work things out. This was also the case for my husband.

I was very reluctant to work things out with him. Like I mentioned in my previous blog, the emotional abuse had been going on for sometime now and even though there are many women who tolerate what I'm going through for much longer; I'm just not willing to stick it out. I rather just be alone, a single parent, and / or find someone who really values me than to stay in this abusive relationship.

But... during our conversation I did look into his eyes and saw two things. One that he was actually and truly scared of losing his family and two that he sincerely wanted to work things out. So I gave him an ultimatum. Either we go to therapy, so that he can get professional help for his issues and we can get marriage counseling or I walk.

In the past I have presented him with the option of going to counseling and even though I had gone by myself, he never agreed to go with me. This time he did. So I have very high hopes that things do improve in our relationship.

I will try to post weekly updates of how we are doing and if therapy is actually helping us work things out. Hopefully if you are or know of someone in a similar situation this blog can help you or them build up the courage to take that first step to improve your life; whether it be to give an end to the relationship or find help for the both of you.
